Susan was born on June 25, 1959, in Picayune, MS to the late Robert Rhodes (R.J.) and Anner Graham. She graduated from Poplarville High School. She was top of her CO-OP welding class. She loved talking about how she enjoyed welding and how talented she was doing it. She attended Pearl River Community College majoring in Child Development. Though she was not able to complete the program her love for children never wavered.
Susan was a woman of many talents, everywhere her gift took her she would impact someone’s life through her love for herself first and then for others. She learned how to love herself first, so that she could love people the way she did. She remained committed to loving others to the end.
On May 2, 1999, Susan married Edward Loper. Prior to marrying Edward, Susan had four children, Anner Marie Aborom Peters, Kimberly Ann Aborom, Floyd Lee Aborom Jr., and Margie Lee Aborom Peters, from a previous marriage. Edward had four children from a previous marriage Sonja Bonner Walker, Tammy Bonner, Earl Bonner, and Terrall Loper.
Susan was a member of Hart’s Chapel Baptist Church. She was a faithful member, when she could not attend, she would join online to be a part of service. She loved her Pastor and First Lady. She loved singing in the choir and Quartet groups. Her favorite song was He’ll fix it For You by the Mighty Clouds of Joy. She was eager to start the Joseph’s Pantry to help the local community as well as surrounding communities. She loved cooking, getting/seeing family together. Tell her something was going to take place she was calling all she knew to make sure they knew and would be there.
She will be forever loved and missed by her husband, Edward Loper, children Anner Peters, Floyd (Anitra) Aborom, Margie (Amos) Peters, Sonja (Edward) Walker, Tammy Bonner, Earl (Alexis) Bonner, and Terrall (Shante) Loper, grandchildren; Ahmad (Emma) Peters, Montoya (Dillon) Evans, Empriss Baham, Kelton Aborom, Alexander Peters, Xander Aborom, Xavion Aborom, Xyarie Aborom, and one bonus granddaughter Lakeedra Smith; six great grandchildren, five sisters; Inez (Charles) Thomas, Carolyn (Eugene) Dorsey (deceased), Ernestine Rhodes (deceased), Charlotte Bland, and Lisa (Victor) Burton, two brothers; Ernest (Evelyn) Rhodes and Jeffrey (Wynetta) Rhodes, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
