Louis Turner passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025 at Picayune Rehabilitation and Healthcare Rehab Center in Picayune, MS, at the age of 86. Affectionately known by many as “Papa.” He lived a life full of humor and had a contagious smile. He was a joyous spirit that touched everyone he met. He was born in Picayune, MS, a George Washington Carver High School graduate and United States Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his spouse, Ozie Mae Price Turner, his parents, Hosey and Onie Turner, his sister, Betty L. Ducre, and his brother, Fred Turner.

He is survived by two devoted brothers, Arthur Turner (Companion, Ruby Stubbs) and Joseph Turner, Sr. (Josephine Turner); one loving sister, Shirley Scott and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and countless friends.

Louis will be deeply missed and remembered for his laughter and love of fishing.

Family and Friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, July 19, 2025.Service: 12-1:00 p.m. at Pilgrim Bound Missionary Baptist Church, 921 Baylous Street, Picayune, MS 39466. Pastor, Henry S. Marshall will be the officiant. Interment will be in the New Palestine Cemetery, 2500 Palestine Road, Picayune, MS 39466 with Military Honors.
