Mr. Jimmie Stubbs

Jimmie Stubbs was born on February 23, 1942, in Bassfield, Mississippi, to the late Milton and Leola Stubbs. He was raised in Bassfield and attended Carver High School. From an early age, Jimmie’s life was grounded in faith. He accepted Christ and became a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend W. L. Lumzy.

Jimmie was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family and lending a helping hand to others. Over the years, he was employed with Pontiac Motors and Dresser Industries before later joining Stubbs Construction. His love for automobiles grew into a lifelong passion for mechanics, and he became known for his knowledge, skill, and natural ability to work on vehicles.

Even in his later years, Jimmie remained active and continued doing the things that brought him joy. He took great pride in his lawn care business and was a devoted member of the All Occasion Truck Club, where he enjoyed fellowship and camaraderie. He also developed a love for travel, creating lasting memories through the places he visited and the experiences he shared along the way.

Jimmie was a man whose life reflected faith, family, hard work, and community. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his passion for cars, his willingness to help others, and the love he had for those closest to him.

He leaves to cherish his memory his fiancée, Terrilyn L. Jackson; his brother-in-love, Lester Jackson; and his children, Darrin Stubbs, Nicole Stubbs, Tiffany Bowie, Sholonda Brown, Allison Bonds, and Dewayne Brown.

His beloved grandchildren include LaToya Brown, Desmon Brown, Johnny Price, Sarah Bonds, Emily Bonds, Jayden Peters, Ahmad Lathen, Maryah Robinson, Makayla Brown, Antwine Bowie, Dwayna Brown, and Alayana Brown.

He also leaves to cherish his memory his brothers and sisters, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other loved ones, and friends.

He also leaves several young men he loved as sons, Lamont Rancifer, Henry Jones, Jimmy McDonald, James Tatum, Rayshun Tatum, and Jason Flowers.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Dean Brown; his parents, Milton and Leola Stubbs; and his children, Stacy Brown and Tracey Badon.

Jimmie completed his earthly journey on September 9, 2026, at the age of 84. His life, love, and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 501 Weems Street, Picayune, MS 39466. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the New Palestine Cemetery, Palestine Road, Picayune, MS 39466

Family Hour will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Brown's Funeral Home Chapel, 1011 Rosa Street, Picayune, MS 39466, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
