Mrs. Idora White
“GOD is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1
Mrs. Idora White, 85, was born in Poplarville, MS to the late Frank and Mariah Watson on December 27, 1940. She departed this life on April 5, 2026.
She was educated in the Poplarville School System and graduated from Todd Memorial High School. She furthered her education at Alcorn State University and obtained and bachelor’s degree in education. She also received her Master of education from the University of Southern Mississippi. She was an educator in the Picayune School District and retired as principal of Magnolia Middle School in Meridian, MS.
Idora married the love of her life John L. White on March 12, 1966, and to this union one daughter Angela Denise was born.
Mrs. White was a faithful servant for the Lord and a devoted member of Green Grove Baptist Church in Poplarville, MS.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Angela (Rev. Kelvin) Langston of Monticello, MS; three grandchildren, Khatara, Kelvin Maurice (Yolanda), and Rev. Korey (Ja'Meka); eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephew, other relatives, and friends.
Services will be held Saturday, April 11 at 12 noon at Green Grove Baptist Church, 245 Todd Street, Poplarville, MS, 30470. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the service time. Rev. Dr. Joey Mark will officiate the service. Interment will be in the Rose Park
