Funeral services will be held Monday, March 23, 2026 at Lily of the Valley Church, 755 Daney Street, Slidell, LA 70458 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Picayune Cemetery, 8th Street, Picayune, MS 39466.

Missionary Gaybe Wrightout was born May 5, 1956. She attended Alton Elementary School and graduated from Pearl River High School. She continued her education at Sullivan Vocational Technical School in Bogalusa, LA where she studied to be a Typist Clerk and Coastal Vocational Technical School in Slidell, LA where she studied Word Processing. She was employed at Slidell Industry for 12 years and retired from her 27-year tenure at The United States Postal Office.

Missionary Gaybe joined Lily of the Valley Church under the leadership of Overseer Carolyn D. Roberson where she served in a multiplicity of capacities, as follows: Armor Bearer for Overseer Roberson, Choir Member, Trustee, Greeter, Director of New Members Auxiliary, Member of the Cheering Lilies, and last, but certainly not least, Missions Board.

She was preceded in death by her great grandmother, Tancie Jacobs; grandmother, Francis Kylons; mother and stepfather, Louise and Charles Thompson; father, Assie Wrightout; sister, Helen Anthony and beloved dog, Jack.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Warren (Mookie) Wrightout; her siblings, Walter (Felicia) Gray, Willie (late Jule) Frowner, Nathan (Elizabeth) Powell, Catherine (late Louis) Torregano, Mary Powell, Linda (Joseph) Holmes, Joyce Cooper; Godson, Joseph Henry III; Goddaughter, Cherolyn Jenkins; foster daughter, Amber Arceneaux; her best friend, Frances Newton and a host of other relatives and friends.
