Charlie McCastile
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Psalm 23:1
Charlie McCastile, age 82, of Picayune, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Born on May 27, 1944, Charlie lived a long and meaningful life defined by quiet strength, steadfast devotion, and a deep love for his family.
Charlie was a dedicated truck driver, a profession he truly loved. The open road was his second home, and he took great pride in every mile he traveled. Truck driving was more than a job to him; it was a calling. He cherished the independence of the road and the satisfaction of knowing his work helped keep families, businesses, and communities moving. His stories from the road were filled with humor, grit, and the wisdom earned through years of experience. His love of truck driving reflected the qualities that defined him: steady, reliable, hardworking, and always moving forward.
Charlie is survived by his devoted wife, Jeannette Carter McCastile, with whom he shared 57 years of love and partnership. He is also survived by his children, Josephine (Joseph) Turner, Arthur McCastile, Demetrice (SFC. Sherwood) McClinton, and Elizabeth Coleman; and his three godchildren, Makayla Brown, Ottis Haynes, and Eziah Jones, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Charlie leaves behind a large and loving family, including 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of his legacy forward.
Charlie was preceded in death by his mother, Emaline McCastile; his daughter, Mary Maranda McCastile; and his son, Namon Clark.
