Albert Hathorne Jr., affectionately known as “Mr. What About It,” passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, at the age of 81.
Albert was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather who deeply cherished his family. A lifelong resident of Picayune, Mississippi, he was a respected pillar of the community and admired by all who knew him. Known for his warm spirit and memorable personality, he left a lasting impression wherever he went.
An avid outdoorsman, Albert had a true passion for hunting, which brought him great joy throughout his life.
He leaves to cherish his loving wife, Dorothy Hathorne; his children, Sylvester Hathorne, Dinah Hathorne, Michael Hathorne, and Albert Hathorne, all of Picayune, MS; along with his beloved grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his children, Stacey Brown and Tracey Badon.
Visitation services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Brown’s Funeral Home Chapel, 1011 Rosa Street, Picayune, MS 39466. Family Hour will begin at 4:00 p.m., followed by Public Viewing from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Parker Chapel Baptist Church, 55 Parker Chapel Road, Picayune, MS 39466. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Parker Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, 55 Parker Chapel Road, Picayune, MS 39466. The repast will be held at the church immediately following the service.
Albert’s legacy of love, strength, and dedication to family and community will be remembered always.
